My mom bought kayaks to use on the rivers and lakes in Indiana, does she need a license or permit? I tried looking it up on Indiana DNR website but couldn't find anything. Please Help!!For the State of Indiana do I need a license to use kayaks?
I don't know of any state that requires a person to hold a license for canoeing or kayaking. Some states require that the boats themselves be registered. Some don't. It looks like Indiana only requires motorized boats to be registered.

I'm just guessing, but you may need to register them. I know in Michigan you do.
