I was thinking about buying a kayak, nothing too fancy or expensive, just something to take out on the weekends on a small river near my house. Looking to spend under $200 although the less the better. I see these inflatable kayaks, do they actually work and are they stable?
Also, on a side note what stores sell kayaks for cheap prices. I have a Bass Pro Shop and a Gander Mountain near my house, what other stores are options?Do inflatable Kayaks work well?
so I guess the answer to your question, based on the prior two respondants, is no they don't work well, the only time you should use one is when there is no current, no breeze, and no hazards such as trees and rocks. May as well buy a cheap raft if that's the case.Do inflatable Kayaks work well?
This is just one option of many.
I bought my g-son a Coleman at walmart for about 60 $. His is a one person kayak and more like a floaty with a back rest. We float a class 2 river and they are hard to maneuver in the wind. On hot days we fight over it because you will get wet in it. Very comfortable because of the back rest. If you aren't going to paddle where there are a lot of sharp rocks and limbs, its a good choice. Check out the gauge of the PVC its made of. 22g. is just so so.
DO NOT get a two person kayak. That takes all the fun out of it!Do inflatable Kayaks work well?
many stores sell inflatable kayaks and regular kayaks.Inflatable kayaks can be good depending on the current and wind. if there is too much it can be hard to control. Also if there are rocks and trees they can pop. They also can be hard to stear. But under good, calm, condition they can work wonders
