What are the laws for kayaks on canals? (United Kingdom)?

I want to use a kayak on a canal in Britain. What are the laws to do with kayaking on canals. What are the laws for kayaks on canals? (United Kingdom)?
No different from any other vessel. All users are the same under the law!

The toll price is not very high though, compared to powered craft.

[Edit to thumb: With regard to tunneling - and even locks, canoeists mad enough to want to do this will know what-is-what already. Who, otherwise, needs to tackle such unnecessary obstacles when they can portage?

But it is not a very important exception. It is, precisely, a relatively unimportant one.

The basic thing to remember is that the law is the same for all - anyone can use them with a suitably safe craft. And there is a BWB toll to pay].

The regulations for navigation on canals which are under the juristiction of the British Waterways Board are similar to those for powered craft with one very important exception. Kayaks and canoes are prohibited from using most of the tunnels on the system for reasons of safety. There are a few short tunnels to which prohibition does not apply. Check in advance, but do not let this stop you. The canals are a wonderful way to travel the country and if you have to resort to some portage on occasion, the exercise will do you good. You will in any case probably find it safer to portage around the locks as well. It is safer and much quicker with a kayak than locking through conventionally.
